There are two aspects of Web Design that can not be ignored: first, the technical content, which dictates how a site works. Depending on the purpose of a site, one site will be vastly different from another, although both serve the same purpose, whether it be to inform visitors, conduct business, or to simply place a presence on the Internet.

The other aspect is the aesthetic of a site; how it looks, the feelings it conveys, and how memorable it is in the viewer's mind. A site can be as plain and traditional as possible; it can also be a work of art. The limitations upon it are placed there by the designer, and the one seeking the site.

Regardless of how 'techy' a website is, and regardless of how it is decorated, it must always serve the purpose for which it was created. Attention must be paid to the details, both large and small, for it to be seen by as large an audience as possible.
